Honoring the Legacy of Heroes

In Colombia, police officers risk their lives every day to protect others. So far in 2025, 150 officers have lost their lives in the line of duty.
Yet when tragedy strikes, their families are often left behind. Widows are forced to raise their children alone, surviving with a short widow’s allowance that makes it nearly impossible to cover basic needs or ensure their children continue studying.
Fundación Corazón Verde was born from the desire to honor these families and help them rebuild their lives. One of its most meaningful initiatives, Grado Once, facilitates education for children who have lost so much. These scholarships accompany them from early childhood until they graduate from high school.
About 90% of the students have lost a parent in the line of duty, while the remaining 10% are children of officers who were permanently injured while protecting others.
Every year, this program changes the lives of more than 500 children.
Since it began in 2005, over 9,500 scholarships have been donated.
Today, we are joining forces to support 50 students through the year with a cost per student of $715 USD annually per child.
Together, we can give these children hope, opportunity, and the future their parents fought to protect.
