BeLive 2010 “A TRIBUTE TO COLOMBIA’S BICENTENNIAL”

7:00 PM at the fabulous Fontainebleau Miami Beach for the fourth celebration of BeLive. This event is a joint effort between the most important U.S. based Colombian foundations to promote social awareness and raise funds to help the most vulnerable people in Colombia.
This year BeLive will celebrate the 200-year anniversary of Colombia’s independence. We will celebrate 200 years of the history, tradition, culture, talent and beauty!
Once again BeLive promises to be an unforgettable night with the support of our donors, guests, personalities and the media.

Bicentennial Project: A Tribute to Colombia – BeLive 2010 invited a distinguished group of Colombians to take part in the Bicentennial Project: A Tribute to Colombia. With their talent and creativity they will create a unique piece contributing from their perspective to the great tapestry that highlights our country around the world. Colombian from different disciplines will participate: artists, musicians, writers, designers, sport stars and chefs among others.
Some of our collaborators are driver Juan Pablo Montoya, soccer player Pibe Valderrama, golf player Camilo Villegas, artist Federico Uribe, painter Ana Mercedes Hoyos, architect Giancarlo Mazzanti, creative Andrés Jaramillo (Andrés Carne de Res), fashion designers Silvia Tcherassi, Esteban Cortazar, Juan Carlos Obando, chefs Ingrid Hoffmann and Harry Sasson, and many other personalities.
Art Performance – Enhancing the best Colombian talent this year BeLive is proud to introduce Diana Gamboa, a great Colombian artist who brilliantly merges culture, art and fashion.
This young girl from Cali applies an ancient Japanese technique known as origami to create large-scale paper dresses exhibitions. Diana will be showing her spectacular creations at BeLive and will create a piece live before the entire audience.
Concierto de Richie Ray & Bobby Cruz – BeLive 2010, presents legends of salsa Richie Ray and Bobby Cruz. This duo better known as “Los Durísimos” is the most important in the history of tropical music. With more than 100 albums and 47-year career together, Richie and Bobby have pioneered what we now know as Salsa and its unique style that combines classical, Salsa Criolla and Salsa “Gorda” that has kept them for 5 decades as one of the top musical institutions of public speaking.
Presentation by de J Balvin – BeLive 2010 presents urban artist J Balvin who has become Colombia’s music sensation. Colombia is the only artist who has had five singles in the Top 100 overall radio. His single “Ella me cautivo” reached #11 in Billboard. J Balvin joined Juanes during the celebration of World Day of Peace concert in Comuna 13 in Medellín performing his best-known hits.
Both this music performances will take place at the Amazing CLUB LIV at the Fountainebleau.
Bicentennial Raffle Raffle- Talented and well-known Colombian jewelry designer Mercedes Salazar created 500 unique bracelets specially to celebrate Colombia’s bicentennial at BeLive 2010. Each one is created with a Colombian coin enhanced with an illustration of the BeLive flower. Her design represents Colombia’s progress as a nation by virtue the country’s wealth both natural and human.
To participate in the BeLive 2010 Raffle guests can purchase these one-of-a-kind numbered series bracelets and they will be participating to win a special edition necklace designed by Mercedes Salazar as a tribute to Colombia!
BeLive 2010 Awards – For the second time our foundations will Grant the BeLive Philanthropy Awards. These are recognitions for a group of people who generously work to improve the lives of thousands of disadvantaged people in Colombia. This year awardees are: retired NASCAR driver Kyle Petty (Victory Junction Camp), Venezuelan singer Ricardo Montaner ( Fundación La Ventana de los Cielos), and Colombian philanthropist Samuel Azout ( Fundación Futbol con Corazón.
This year was created by origami artist Diana Gamboa, representing the BeLive flower.
