Fundación Soles Marianos

Although there are many programs that promote education, few focus on children with special needs. Fundación Soles Marianos understands that Colombia still lacks many of the social programs required to fit the learning needs of those with cognitive disabilities, Autism, Down syndrome, learning disabilities, and progressive muscular dystrophy.

Their goal is to help children with special needs by implementing academic and therapeutic workshops that promote cognitive, artistic, motor, and social skills, teach independence and self-sustainability, and provide employment skills. Their programs  include animal assisted therapy, art therapy, horticultural therapy, cooking & business workshops, and even field trips.

For the past two years, Give To Colombia has seen first-hand the dedication that Fundación Soles Marianos has for these children as they built a kiosk classroom specially designed to meet the children’s needs.

But they hope to continue implementing more therapies and programs to teach independence, entrepreneurship, and life-skills for the children who are now becoming teens. With your support, we hope to make this a reality!
