Colombia Se Levanta
A 7.4-magnitude earthquake, with its epicenter in San José del Palmar, Chocó, has affected communities across several regions of Colombia.
In response to this emergency, Give To Colombia, in alliance with Presentes Corporación, has launched Colombia Se Levanta, a solidarity campaign to mobilize support and resources for the families and communities affected by the earthquake.
On Monday, August 10, 2026, Colombia experienced a powerful 7.4 Mw earthquake at a depth of 96 kilometers, with its epicenter in the municipality of San José del Palmar, Chocó, according to the updated bulletin from the Colombian Geological Service included in the preliminary report issued by the National Unit for Disaster Risk Management (UNGRD).
The earthquake was strongly felt across different regions of the country. According to the UNGRD’s preliminary report, impacts have already been reported in municipalities across Chocó, Caldas, Valle del Cauca, Risaralda, Quindío, Antioquia, and Cundinamarca, with reports of the earthquake being felt in additional departments.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation and coordinate emergency
response efforts.
