Colombia Se Levanta
On Monday August 10th, Colombia was struck by a 7.4-magnitude earthquake. It’s epicenter was in San José del Palmar, Chocó, but its effect rippled across the country.
In addition, it has also affected departments such as Caldas, Valle del Cauca, Risaralda, Quindío, Antioquia, and Cundinamarca, where many buildings, churches, and bridges collapsed.
In response to this emergency, Give To Colombia and Presentes Corporación have launched Colombia Se Levanta, a solidarity campaign to mobilize support and resources for the families and communities most affected by the earthquake.

Give To Colombia can only accept monetary donations at this time. Your support allows us to channel resources directly to Colombia, where they can be transformed into the essential aid and support that affected families and communities need most throughout their recovery.
The Aftermath is Still Being Assessed
It’s important to keep in mind that the situation continues to develop, and the estimated aftermath will be continuously updated. The number of affected communities, the extent of the damage, and other details may change as assessment, search and rescue, and verification efforts continue across the impacted areas.
Through Colombia se levanta, Give To Colombia and Presentes Corporación are joining forces to mobilize individuals, companies, organizations, and allies around a collective response to this emergency.
The campaign will help mobilize resources to address needs as they are identified on the ground and support affected families and communities throughout their recovery and rebuilding process.

Presentes Corporación is our local disaster relief organization on the ground. They work closely with communities and local partners, helping ensure that support reaches the places where it is needed most.
Our partnership with Presentes Corporación is especially meaningful because it combines our ability to mobilize resources from the United States with their experience, local knowledge, and capacity to respond directly on the ground.
This is not the first time we have joined forces in response to a crisis: following Hurricane Iota, Give To Colombia and Presentes worked together to support the rebuilding of Providencia. Today, we are coming together once again—connecting the generosity of those abroad with trusted, experienced action on the ground in Colombia.

Unfortunately, we cannot accept any in-kind donations at this moment as our structure has changed a bit in the past years.
We do recommend reaching out to local small colombian businesses in your city who are leading the in-kind donation efforts.
At G2C, we pride ourselves in channeling the maximum amount possible towards the efforts in Colombia. However, the amount will vary depending on your donation method as online contributions are subject to merchant fees such as Stripe/PayPal/etc. in addition to possible bank fees.
