Fundación Otero Liévano
Fundación Otero Liévano started in 1960 with the hope of protecting, aiding, and guaranteeing the well-being of young girls in Bogotá thanks to the work of one woman, Maria Margarita Otero.
Her legacy continues through the work of the foundation, where they work to improve the quality of life for girls, teenagers, and young women in vulnerable situations. In many cases, these girls are victims of abuse, lack education opportunities, and face malnutrition, child labor, early pregnancies, and gang violence.
Fundación Otero Liévano hopes that by providing these girls with the proper tools and knowledge, they may become agents of change capable of carrying out whatever life project they set for themselves. This is accomplished through vocational, academic, psychological, and nutritional interventions. Their current goal is to provide them with STEAM projects, vocational training, and mental health/self-care workshops.
