75,000 Reasons to Feed Hope

When a child is given a cancer diagnosis the disease affects not just their health, it shakes the whole family. In Colombia, a good number of children with cancer are not able to obtain the proper medical care or treatment they need as many of these families earn less than the minimum wage. This turns any potential treatment into a medical and financial battle.
FUNSEBAS is a foundation created in 2020 that hopes to provide children with cancer and their families hope and a higher quality of life. Given that 62% of families in these situations face malnutrition, and how important food is to help a child tolerate the medical treatments, FUNSEBAS has decided to tackle this very issue. In their brief time, FUNSEBAS has provided nutritional support to over 200 families.
Their goal now is to support 50 more families with your help in 2026.
To do so, FUNSEBAS will identify 50 children who are undergoing lengthy high-costs treatments who require strict nutritional guidelines and whose family are in financial need. Once these children have been identified, the foundation will
- Provide monthly groceries for the family, which are meant to boosts the child’s immune system.
- Provide nutritional kits with vitamins and supplements for the children.
- Provide professional support and education by connecting each family to a trained nutritionist who will promote healthy eating habits and address whatever concerns arise.
With this thorough intervention, FUNSEBAS is able to guarantee the families receive a rounded approach and that the program meets all their necessities.
With only $125, FUNSEBAS will be able to support a family for a month. Please help us make this dream a reality!
