Luxury Swiss watch brand TAG Heuer announced its newest superstar brand ambassador this week in Miami. Holding an intimate press conference at the Faena Hotel on Miami Beach, TAG Heuer CEO and head of LVMH Watch Division Jean-Claude Biver introduced famed Latin musician J. Balvin as the brand’s newest face. The star is in good company among other ambassadors like close friend Cristiano Ronaldo or Chris Hemsworth, David Guetta, Martin Garrix, Alec Monopoly and Bella Hadid.
“We‘re thrilled to announce our new partnership with J. Balvin. He’s a game-changing artist and we look forward to build an exciting relationship with him throughout Latin America, one of our top markets and home to a savvy young audience of watch lovers,” said Mr. Biver.
As a huge watch collector with a strong passion for the fashion and watch world, J. Balvin is thrilled to join the brand and collaborate on new projects together. “A central part of my style is to remain yourself, and since I have loved TAG Heuer watches for years, and worked with them previously in Colombia, I’m excited to partner with them on a new level and join the ranks of global brand ambassadors that I hold great respect for, like Cristiano Ronaldo and David Guetta,” Balvin said.
Another one of Balvin’s passions is his philanthropic work, particularly for his homeland through the Give to Colombia organization. Following the press conference, Balvin and the TAG Heuer team joined the organization to host a fundraising gala at the Faena Theatre. Give to Colombia is a non-profit which strives to better the lives of Colombians through education, environment, health and economic development.
At the gala, Give To Colombia president and co-founder, Angela M. Tafur, alongside to J. Balvin raffled a TAG Heuer Carrera Heuer-02 Tourbillon and a TAG Heuer CARRERA Calibre 9, raising the additional amount of $25,000 for the foundation. Afterwards, Balvin got the crowd going with a special live performance where he belted out his hit songs for the audience.
